John Phillips
John spent his time in Articles with a long-established practice in Lincoln’s Inn in London after leaving the College of Law in Chester and qualified as a Solicitor in 1981. In the same year he joined Fearon & Co., which was then based in Woking, Surrey, as an Assistant Solicitor and became a partner in 1983.
Following the retirement of Timothy Peter Fearon in April 2000 he became Senior Partner and moved the business to purpose built modern offices in Guildford, Surrey’s ‘County Town’, in 2004.
Since taking over the business of the firm in 2000, John has transformed a general High Street practice in to a niche provider of legal services to law firms and individuals with a requirement for legal services in the areas of probate, property and litigation – at home and abroad. He has numerous connections with law firms throughout the Republic of Ireland, Australia and New Zealand and is a member of the International Division of the Law Society of England and Wales.
John has a particular interest in property and probate law, specialising in the acquisition, disposal and letting of commercial buildings and in the context of domicile and taxation.
In his spare time John enjoys motor racing and is a member of the Goodwood Racing Club based at Goodwood in West Sussex. He also has a keen interest in art and architecture, gardening, travelling and is a collector of antiques.
